The WSTA provides a unique opportunity for financial professionals, technology vendors, service providers, and industry consultants to be a part of a community that offers ongoing educational and networking opportunities. Here’s what makes us different and why you should get involved:
Community
The WSTA is a not-for-profit, membership-based organization. It provides a forum where everyone involved in the industry can get together to share information and develop new relationships on an ongoing basis. This approach enables better collaboration, increases innovation, and provides opportunities to develop new relationships.
Curated Content
Event content is developed by financial services professionals, for financial services professionals. The WSTA Board, members, industry consultants, and technology vendors get together to develop each year’s topics. With their experience and expertise, we are able to distill complex topics down to the insights that matter most to FSI professionals. This is followed by an in-depth review of the abstracts and presentations to make sure the content is timely and relevant. An extensive library of white papers, infographics, videos, etc., on the topics being addressed at events supports the material covered.
Networking
The WSTA offers opportunities to get together with industry colleagues after hours to catch up or meet new people. At special events like Wine Tastings and Golf Outings, members and vendors have opportunities to engage in an informal atmosphere. These in-person socials are a great way to connect and develop industry relationships.
Concise
More than ever, time is an important commodity. We work hard to minimize the time you need to spend to get high-quality content developed specifically for FS. Whether in-person or virtual, it isn’t necessary to spend a full-day or two to get beneficial and timely information that can be provided in a few hours.
“At the team and individual levels, organizations must create meaningful channels for everyone to learn and evolve to stay relevant in careers that are now or will soon be augmented by technologies like artificial intelligence and automation. At S&P Global, technology underpins everything we do and is a means to elevate the work our greatest resource—our people—conduct every day as we seek to power the markets of the future.
Along the same vein, WSTA’s mission of promoting industry learning and best practices is highly relevant as technology across the financial industry continues to evolve at a rapid pace.“
Affiliates and sponsors are an integral component of the WSTA. As a not-for-profit organization, they contribute significantly by providing the resources needed to run the educational and networking programs for WSTA Members. These programs strengthen the bond between Members and companies that serve the technology needs of the financial community.
Currently, more than 200 technology firms participate in the WSTA. These companies specialize in areas including cloud, big data, mobility, security, software, infrastructure, networking, social media & telecom.
“I am energized to be a part of the community of problem-solvers at the WSTA. Educational and networking events bring industry leaders together, promoting effective sharing and continuous readiness to meet the challenges in the volatile industry.”
